Macrostrat is a digital model of the Earth's crust: a database that links geologic maps, stratigraphic columns and a shared geologic vocabulary into one framework through space and time. It is developed by the Macrostrat lab at the University of Wisconsin–Madison together with a growing community of geologists and developers, and it underlies the Rockd mobile app and many other applications.
